Greetings Friends,

There is a couple of powerful verses in Job 22:27-28.

You will pray to him, and he will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows.

What you decide (Declare NKJV) on will be done and light will shine on your ways. NIV

When we speak to our Heavenly Father and He answers us, it is light to our soul and spirit. In that place of confidence we resolve to be obedient. Out of our obedience we realize that the Lord has given us authority to make powerful declarations of God’s Word in our lives and situations. When we take that stand of verbal faith our Father is kind to let the light of His presence shine on us through the power of His son Jesus Christ. He even chooses to open the door to unsearchable relational riches in order to encourage His sons and daughters. (Jere. 33:3)

How awesome is our God?

Blessings, Chuck

God had been speaking to me recently about my “gift of discernment.” By nature, I tend to see more wrong than I do right. Trust me, when it comes to our church, don’t worry about me getting a big head about all that God is doing. I usually see more wrong than I do right! Not because it’s wrong, but because that is what I naturally see! The truth is that we see what we are looking for. Have you ever got a new car and then realized that EVERYONE seems to have the same car as you? Why? Because all of a sudden that is what you are looking for.

This truth applies to our attitude toward our life, our work, our ministry, our family, and all the other areas of our lives. What we see is what we are looking for. What we see is what we’ll get. If we see a terrible spouse, guess what? If we see that everything is wrong at work, guess what? If we are looking for faults in someone, guess what you are going to find? If we are looking for faults in the church, guess what we’ll find? We see what we’re looking for, and then what we see is what we get.

So, what do we do about this? Change what we are looking for. Look for the good. That is what God did when He sent Jesus. He didn’t just see sin. He saw children worth dying for. When Jesus picked the twelve disciple, there we plenty that Jesus could have seen wrong with them. What did Jesus see? Potential. No one else saw it in them. What did Jesus see when He looked at Jerusalem? In John 4:35 He said: “Well, I’m telling you to open your eyes and take a good look at what’s right in front of you. These Samaritan fields are ripe. It’s harvest time!”. What did Jesus see when He looked at people? Potential! Want to be like Jesus? Stop seeing everything wrong with everything and everyone. Start seeing potential!

Philippians 4:8-9
Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.
